Chandigarh Police announces Rs 2 lakh reward for info on suspects in sector 10 blast case

Intensifying its probe in reference to the blast case at Sector 10 in Chandigarh, the Police have announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for anyone providing information resulting in the arrest of the opposite two suspects.

The police said a small suspected pressure-type blast befell at a house in Chandigarh’s Sector 10 area on 9/11, damaging windows and flower pots.

“Chandigarh Police announces a reward of Rs 2 lakhs for providing any information resulting in the arrest of alternative two suspects involved within the blast case at sector 10. All of the way all through the clue of said two suspects persons, information could also be given on Police keep an eye on room no. 0172-2749194 or 112 and WhatsApp no 9465121000,” Police said in an announcement.

Meanwhile, Sub Inspector Lakhwinder Singh said that the investigation is ongoing and a Central Forensic Science Laboratory team will arrive on the incident spot today also, as the investigation is probably not completed yesterday because it became dark.

Singh added the protection has been deployed to safeguard the evidence.

“The CSFL teams will come. The investigation is probably not completed yesterday because it became dark within the night… A 3-wheeler has been recovered, however it the accused are yet to be nabbed… The investigation goes on. Teams have been sent worldwide… The security has been deployed to safeguard the evidence… The family is fine. They do not need any issues with anyone. They reside in Australia,” Sub Inspector Singh said.

On being asked if the suspicious explosion is connected with the officer’s family residing within the concerned house previously, he said, “The investigation will likely be carried out on that point.”

Earlier on Wednesday, police and forensic teams reached the incident spot to assemble evidence. One person has been arrested in reference to the blast, they said.

The SSP also said that the complainant reported seeing two persons near the place of abode, allegedly throwing a grenade like object on the net page online.

“The complainant has said that two suspicious people came in an auto and hurled a grenade-like object. The complainant saw them. Teams are in search of for them. Some blast has befell, we are investigating the reason within the back of the blast,” she added.
