Mumbai: Renowned director, writer, and producer, Karan Johar took the internet by storm when he expressed his disappointment, with his viral portrayal of his character on a comedy show, ‘Madness Machayenge – India Ko Hasayenge.’ Karan made sure that he took an indirect jibe at the disappointing act on national television. He shared his concern without taking the name of the comedian Kettan Singh, K.Jo expressed the ‘poor taste’ of mimicking him. Kettan Apologises to Karan Johar After Mimicking Him On National TV

Although, Kettan had already issued an apology to Karan Johar, Singh once again through various media portals approached Karan Johar. A news report by India Today wrote, “I was actually surprised because while we rehearsed and even shot it, no one found anything offensive. I still don’t know what exactly offended him. Was it the impersonation, the content, or some dialogue? I am not sure what exactly triggered him. Regardless, if it did not go well with him, I heartily apologise to him (sic),” said Kettan.

Kettan Singh is still processing the recent developments, as the reality of the situation has not fully sunk in yet. He expressed that he is unsure about his next steps and is feeling overwhelmed by the current circumstances. Kettan added, “He is such a big personality, and I have no way to access him. I don’t think DMing him on social media is the best way to connect. Hence, I can just apologise to him through these reports (sic).”

What Exactly Did Karan Johar Share on Social Media

Karan Johar wrote a descriptive message on his Instagram Story. Karan penned, “I was sitting and watching television with my mom… and saw a promo of a reality comedy show on a supposedly respectable channel… a comic was mimicking me in exceptionally poor taste… I expect this from trolls and faceless and nameless people but when your own industry can disrespect someone who has been in the business for over 25 years it speaks volumes about the times we live in… this doesn’t even anger me it just makes me sad!” (sic).

Producer and director Ekta Kapoor extended her support for Karan she penned, “Happened so many times! Ugly humour sometimes on shows. N even. Award functions. N then. They expect u to attend ! Karan pls ask them. To imitate. One movie. Or classic of urs! @karanjohar (sic).”

The comedian shared that he had performed similar comedy acts on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ a few years ago, and this was the first time he had presented the act on his current show. When asked if he would dare to do it again, Kettan replied, “As an actor, it’s part of my skill set and I cannot let it go. I have mimicked several celebrities but have always ensured not to make it caricaturish. This has been my way to perform, to keep it real. I cannot say I will never impersonate him again, but as of now, I just want to apologise to him. I think next time we will work harder on the content (sic).”
