Directors Approach Film Chamber to Register Titles ‘D-Gang’ and ‘Khaidi No 6106’ Related to Darshan’s Alleged Murder Case, Report

Despite the imprisonment of Kannada actor Darshan, suspected of Renukaswamy’s murder, filmmakers are furiously scrambling to the film chamber to secure titles related to the incident. A TOI report mentions that the film chamber has yet to greenlight any titles tied to the case due to ongoing legal issues. Read on to find more details.

Titles like “D-Gang”, “Pattanagere Shed”, and “Khaidi No 6106” were up for approval. “D-Gang” is a playful twist on Darshan’s nickname, “D-Boss”. As for “Pattanagere Shed”, it refers to the scene of the supposed crime, while “6106” marks Darshan’s inmate number during his stint in Parappana Agrahara Prison. Rocky Somli revealed that he coined the term “D-Gang” a couple of years back, even penning down a song in its honor. But once Darshan found himself embroiled in a scandal and subsequent arrest, he swiftly moved to officially register the title, having seen other news channels presenting programs under similar names.

Rocky shares his claim that the association for the film industry ignored any titles linked to Darshan’s situation. He believes, “We hold a confident view on acquiring the title which was agreed upon a couple of years ago and we’ve gathered sufficient proof to back our contention.” The title ‘Khaidi No 6106’ is popular among the actor’s fans, who openly show their love for it by getting tattoos and putting it up on their cars, as indicated by media outlets.

About Darshan’s Murder Case

Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and their friends were nabbed on June 11 for their alleged involvement in the homicide of Renukaswamy. The special court dealing with economic crimes in Bengaluru has decided to keep them in detention until July 4. The case was recorded in the Kamakshipalya police station.

Renukaswamy, a devoted fan of Darshan, is said to have forwarded offensive texts to Pavithra. His lifeless body was discovered on the 9th of June, triggering the consequent transfer of Darshan along with other alleged individuals to the Central Jail. A recent prison visit was made by Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, and their son Vinish.
