Emergency: Kangana Ranaut's next postponed to 2024, actress pens note

Kangana Ranaut fans are eagerly waiting to see their beloved actress in the historical drama, Emergency. While the project was expected to reach the cinema halls on 24 November this year, the Queen actress has now announced that the release date for the venture has been delayed. The much-awaited drama will be released in the cinema halls next year in 2024. The announcement was made through a post on X (previously known as Twitter).

Release date for Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency postponed

Kangana’s post went like this, “I have an important announcement to make, Emergency movie is the culmination of my entire life’s learnings and earnings as an artist. Emergency is not just a film for me it’s a test of my worth and character as an individual. Tremendous response that our teaser and other units got from everyone encouraged us all. My heart is full of gratitude and wherever I go people ask me about Emergency’s release date.”

The Tejas star further added that given the constant changes in her schedule, they have taken the decision to alter the release date for Emergency, “We have announced Emergency release date as 24th November 2023 but because of all the changes in my back to back releasing films calendar and over packed last quarter of 2024 we have decided to shift Emergency to next year (2024),” she wrote.

Kangana Ranaut further stated that they will be sharing the new release date of Emergency soon, “New release date will be announced soon, please bear with us, your anticipation, curiosity and excitement for the film means a lot.”

All About Emergency

The movie is inspired by the infamous Indian Emergency and will see Kangana Ranaut essaying the role of the former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. In addition to this, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman have also been roped in for significant roles in the drama.

Bankrolled by Manikarnika Films and EaseMyTrip, the songs and background score of the film have been provided by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Along with leading the movie, Kangana Ranaut has also produced Emergency.
