The year 2023 was quite a successful blockbuster one for Indian content as both films, as well as web shows, outperformed each other, giving out a list of blockbusters throughout the year. While the new year has just begun, it is now the time to embrace all the new shows and movies that come our way in 2024.

From highly anticipated films to exciting web shows, the list of most anticipated films and web shows is quite long. Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force, Konkona Sen Sharma’s Killer Soup, Mirzapur 3, and Panchayat 3 are a few among the ones that fans are eagerly waiting for.

Featuring actors Konkona Sen Sharma and Manoj Bajpayee in the lead roles, the highly-anticipated series black comedy show, Killer Soup revolves around an aspiring chef Swathi Shetty who plans to consider killing and replacing her husband with her lover (also played by Manoj Bajpayee). However, things take a turn for a change, unleashing hilarious chaos.

One of the most highly anticipated shows this year is the Sidharth Malhotra starrer Indian Police Force. The show which marks the actor’s OTT debut also features actors Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi in prominent roles. Sidharth Malhotra will be officially inducted into the Shetty’s cop universe joining the ranks of Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Ranveer Singh. The upcoming series is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video.

3. Karmma Calling- Disney+Hotstar

Another addition to the international series being adapted into an Indian show is the upcoming Raveena Tandon starrer Karmma Calling. All set to release this year on Disney+Hotstar, the show trades the Hamptons for Alibaug and promises to come with a mix of twists and turns.

A mystery thriller featuring actresses Kajol and Kriti Sanon in prominent roles, Do Patti will also arrive on Netflix this year. Directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi, the film is produced by Kathha Pictures and co-produced by Kriti Sanon. It aims to take the audience on a thrilling suspense-filled ride amid the mesmerizing hills of North India.

5. Mirzapur 3- Amazon Prime Video

Ali Fazal aka Guddu Bhaiya is all set to step back in the world of Mirzapur with the highly anticipated third season. Promising heightened tensions and an interesting storyline, the third season of crime drama is expected to be released this year with more power struggles, intense confrontation, and unexpected plot twists.

6. Panchayat 3- Amazon Prime Video

With yet another highly anticipated show, Jitendra Kumar is all set to return in the third season of Panchayat. Highly loved among fans, Panchayat which brought the comedy rural drama from the Phulera village has already won fans’ hearts with its previous seasons. In the wake of the last season’s heartbreaking climax, fans are more eager for the anticipated sequel.

Filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to bring a new web series titled Showtime under his own production banner. Featuring prominent faces like Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi, and Mouni Roy among others, the show will give a glimpse into the entangled world of showbiz.

While a lot more films and OTT shows are yet to be announced this year, the aforementioned shows and films are worth catching up on.
