I.N.D.I alliance is anti-Hindu, wants to end Sanatan culture: PM Modi slams Opposition over DMK leaders' remark

Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Opposition unity bloc I.N.D.I.A and said the political parties that are part of it have a resolution to end ‘Sanatan culture.”

The remarks were made by PM Modi at a rally in Madhya Pradesh and was his first public reaction following the controversy that sparked after DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin compared Sanatan Dharma with dengue, malaria.

Previously, the Prime Minister had urged his ministers to deliver a “proper response” to this remark.

“This INDI alliance doesn’t have a leader…they have also decided on a hidden agenda to attack India’s culture. The INDI alliance has come with a resolution to end ‘Sanatan’ culture…,” PM Modi said.

‘Sanatanis, people who love our country, be alert’

Intensifying his attack on the Opposition unity bloc, PM Modi said that the call for the “eradication of Sanatan Dharma” has crossed a line and should not go unchallenged.

“The people of this I.N.D.I alliance want to erase that ‘Sanatan Dharma’ which gave inspiration to Swami Vivekananda and Lokmanya Tilak… Today, they have openly started targeting Sanatan, tomorrow they will increase the attacks on us. All ‘Sanatanis’ across the country and the people who love our country will have to be alert. We will have to stop such people.”

Earlier this month, Udhayanidhi, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin likened Sanatan Dharma to malaria and dengue, and said that its should be "eradicated".

A political row erupted after junior Stalin's remark, with the BJP hitting out at I.N.D.I.A , a group of 28 opposition parties.

A few days after Udhayanidhi's remark, DMK Lok Sabha MP and former Union minister A Raja has likened Sanatan Dharma to diseases like leprosy and HIV.
