India has been a side in form and they come into this match after comprehensive wins over Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. They are now at the top of the points table and look set to continue their dominance. A win in Pune against Bangladesh will see them on the cusp of a semi-final berth.

On the other hand, Bangladesh come into this match after having suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of England and New Zealand. They started their World Cup campaign with a win over Afghanistan, but their batting has been a big let down in the last two games.

Skipper Shakib al Hasan picked up an injury against New Zealand and this has added to their woes ahead of their clash with the hosts.

We are now in Pune and as per the weather forecast, the temperature will be around 33 degree celsius with humidity around 41 per cent. There are no chances of rain in this match and according to AccuWeather, the precipitation levels could be around 3 per cent.

The temperature will drop as the sun sets and the weather will be good for the players in the evening. There could be an impact of dew considering no cloud cover during the day.

India vs Bangladesh, Pune pitch

Historically, the pitches at the MCA Stadium in Pune have been good for batting. There is good pace and bounce on offer for the fast bowlers as well while the spinners have not been able to extract assistance. Despite dew, the teams that have batted first have fared well and this will be a conundrum the captains face at the toss.

If we look at the last seven matches, the first innings produced a score exceeding 300 in five instances and only twice have these scores been chased down. Ball flies in Pune and owing to the open nature of the stadium, pacers get good assistance under lights.
