India has been a side in form and they come into this match after comprehensive wins over Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. They are now at the top of the points table and look set to continue their dominance. A win in Pune against Bangladesh will see them on the cusp of a semi-final berth.

On the other hand, Bangladesh come into this match after having suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of England and New Zealand. They started their World Cup campaign with a win over Afghanistan, but their batting has been a big let down in the last two games.

Skipper Shakib al Hasan picked up an injury against New Zealand and this has added to their woes ahead of their clash with the hosts.

Historically, the pitches at the MCA Stadium in Pune have been good for batting. There is good pace and bounce on offer for the fast bowlers as well while the spinners have not been able to extract assistance.
