WATCH: Israel puts out video of Gaza hospital blast

After an explosion swept through a hospital in Gaza’s war-torn territory, killing over 500 people, Hamas and Israel traded accusations.

The Benjamin Netanyahu administration insisted that they had no part in the attack, despite Hamas’s assertion that the explosion was brought on by an Israeli rocket. According to the Israeli military, a missile launched by the Islamic Jihad misfired and they were to fault for it.

Israel published a number of videos of the explosion to support their allegations, one of which showed the hospital and its surrounds both before and after the rocket impacted.

“A failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization hit the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza City. IAF footage from the area around the hospital before and after the failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization,” IDF said while sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter).

The building caught fire when the rocket landed in the hospital parking lot, as shown in the video. The Israeli military asserted that their equipment, particularly its rockets, had a high effect and left holes in the places it struck.

They said that the hospital is not in the vicinity of any obvious craters, and even the structure itself appears to have sustained little damage.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the chief Israeli military spokesperson, responded that the scale of the explosion at the scene was consistent with unspent rocket fuel igniting.

"Most of this damage would have been done due to the propellant, not just the warhead," he said.

Hagari further asserted that Hamas could not have known what caused the explosion as rapidly as it claimed, and that Hamas had exaggerated the number of casualties from the incident.

Nearly 500 people were murdered, according to Gaza's health authorities, in the explosion at the Ahli Arab Hospital. As the injured and dead were transported to adjacent hospitals, there were scenes of mayhem on the ground.

Numerous dead covered in white plastic wrap and blood-stained sheets dotted the floors of the Al-Shifa hospital. Family members in shock attempted to locate loved ones.

Following the explosion, emotions were so high that Arab officials postponed a meeting with US Vice President Joe Biden, who arrived in Israel today.

The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, and other nations denounced the attack and blamed Israel for it.

Prior to Tuesday's explosion, health officials in Gaza estimated that at least 3,000 people had perished during Israel's 11-day bombardment that started following a Hamas attack on southern Israeli villages on October 7 that resulted in 1,400 deaths and 200 captives being carried into Gaza.

Fears of a Middle Eastern conflict spreading have increased as a result of the fighting. While Israel has received backup from the United States in the form of aircraft carriers, Hamas supporters like as Iran and Tehran's Lebanese proxy Hezbollah have threatened to retaliate against any Israeli ground assault of Gaza.
