India vs South Africa: Virat Kohli's 76 in vain as Proteas crush visitors by an innings and 32 runs at Centurion
Virat Kohli scored a fighting 76 but could not avoid a batting collapse from Team India as Rohit Sharma and Co suffered an innings and 32 runs defeat at the hands of South Africa on Thursday in the first Test at Centurion.
After taking a 163-run first innings lead earlier in Day 3, the hosts were given a quick win by their pacers who tormented that ill-prepared Indian batters to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. Nandre Burger clinched four wickets and was the star of the bowling show followed by Marco Jansen who took three wickets. Kagiso Rabada took two wickets.
Apart from Kohli, Gill (26) was the only Indian batter to get into the double-digit scores.
