India’s Predicted Playing XI at T20 World Cup 2024: Rohit Sharma-Yashasvi Jaiswal Likely to Open, Virat Kohli at No. 3

Mumbai: The much-awaited announcement happened and India’s T20 World Cup squad was on predicted lines, sans a few surprises. There has already been a lot of talk over Rinku Singh’s omission from the squad. Most reckoned he deserved a spot in the squad. With the 15-member squad out, the question is – who would feature in the XI. There is some conundrum over who will open. Will it be Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal or will it be Virat Kohli with the Indian captain?

There is lot of talk around that. There were talks of Rohit opening with Kohli, but eventuallu one reckons the management will opt for a left-right combination at the top and hence Jaiswal stands a better chance than Kohli at the opening spot. Kohli plays at No. 3. After Kohli, it would be Suryakumar Yadav without a doubt.

It will be interesting who slots in at No 5. This is probably where the wicketkeeper will bat and looks like it will be Rishabh Pant over Sanju Samson.

Allrounder Hardik Pandya, despite his poor form, is likely to come in after Pant. Ravindra Jadeja would be the other all-rounder and he is expected to come in after Hardik. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh would be the three pacers in the XI with Kuldeep Yadav playing as the specialist spinner.
