IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange and Purple Cap list: GT beat MI by 55 runs to go second in standings

Gujarat Titans (GT) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday to go second in the Indian Premier League (IPL) standings and stay in the hunt for a spot in the playoffs.

MI won the toss in Ahmedabad and opted to field first. Shubman Gill (56), Abhinav Manohar (52) and David Miller (46) played some valuable knocks to take GT to 207/6 in 20 overs.

MI got off to a slow start in their chase, having lost Rohit Sharma early while also managing just 29 runs in the powerplay. Nehal Wadhera scored a fighting 50 and Cameron Green hit 33, but a target of 208 was too much to ask for MI.

MI stay seventh with six points despite the defeat.

Chennai Super Kings lead the points table following their win over Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.
