IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange and Purple Cap list: RR get better of CSK and Dhoni to take top spot

Rajasthan Royals jumped to the top spot of the IPL 2023 points table after beating Chennai Super Kings by three runs on Wednesday. It was RR’s third win in four matches this season and they now have six points, while CSK are now fifth in the table after two wins and as many losses.

Lucknow Super Giants (2), Kolkata Knight Riders (3) and Gujarat Titans (4) are the other teams in the playoff slots. While LSG have six points from four games, both KKR and GT have four points each from three matches. Delhi Capitals are the only side in IPL 2023 to still not win a match. The David Warner-led side is at the bottom with 0 points from four matches.

CSK (5) and Punjab Kings (6) also have four points each but PBKS have only played three matches so far.

Three teams — Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad — are locked on two points, with RCB having the best Net Run Rate (-0.800) of the lot has put them in the seventh spot.

List of Orange Cap and Purple Cap holders

Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan (225 runs) leads the Orange Cap list after his breathtaking 99 not out against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner (205) is in the second spot while Chennai Super Kings’ Ruturaj Gaikwad (197) holds the third position.

Rajasthan Royals Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets against CSK and is now at the top of the Purple Cap list with 10 wickets. Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mark Wood is second with nine wickets to his name. Gujarat Tiants Rashid Khan is in third with eight wickets.
