ABD predicts Hardik's future at MI

AB de Villiers feels that Hardik Pandya will captain Mumbai Indians instead of Rohit Sharma. Hardik won IPL in 2022 with Gujarat Titans, but Rohit has won five IPL titles with MI.

"I am not sure what happened there but it looks like he is heading back to Mumbai. I think it's going to cost them a bit. I mean Rohit is the captain, we know he loves leading from the front. Will he step down and let Hardik lead, because he has got the big weight of Team India and captaining there," De Villiers said.

"I have got a funny feeling Rohit is going to let him (Hardik) captain and take over the reins. Rohit carries a lot of pressure by captaining Team India as well. Maybe that is going to be the move."

RR director of cricket, Kumar Sangakkara, explains Joe Root's decision to opt out of IPL 2024:

"During our retention conversations, Joe informed us of his decision to not take part in IPL 2024. Even in a short span of time, Joe was able to create such a positive impact on the franchise and the players around him. His energy around the group and the experience he brought to the Royals will be missed. We respect his decision totally and wish him success in everything he does."
