Iran backed groups claim to have bombed US base in Syria
Syrian opposition groups claim that a drone strike has been carried out on an oil complex in eastern Syria that houses US personnel as well as a US base in the vicinity.
Requests for confirmation from the US military were not promptly answered, and there was no immediate information on casualties.
According to activist Omar Abu Layla, who runs the Deir Ezzor 24 media site from Europe, three explosive-equipped drones hit the Conoco gas field in the Iraqi border region of Deir el-Zour in the east.
A US military base in the Al-Tanf area of Homs province, Syria, was attacked by a drone by resistance factions.

Five explosions were reported at the Conoco gas field, according to Rami Abdurrahman, an opposition war monitor stationed in Britain with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The US base at Tanf, located in eastern Syria close to the borders of Iraq, Jordan, and Syria, was also hit by three drones, according to the Observatory. According to the report, three drones struck the base and caused minor material damage, while two were shot down before they could reach their targets.
According to Abu Layla and the Observatory, fighters stationed in Iran and stationed in eastern Syria and western Iraq appear to be responsible for the strike.
