Attacks by Lebanon's Hezbollah group wound 7 Israeli troops along border with Israel

Israel's military and rescue services said that seven Israeli troops and ten other individuals were injured in attacks carried out by Lebanon's Hezbollah group on Sunday.

The battles occurred as fighting between the Israeli military and the group backed by Iran rages along the border between Lebanon and Israel, raising the possibility of escalating into a new front in the latest conflict in the Middle East.

Since an Israeli bombing in south Lebanon on November 5 killed a lady and three children, the assault was the most deadly event involving civilians along the border between Lebanon and Israel.

Heavy fighting rages near main Gaza hospital, people trapped inside say they cannot flee

Rejecting Israel's assertions that it was assisting newborns and others in evacuating on Sunday, health officials and those trapped inside Gaza's largest hospital said combat was still going on close outside the building, where incubators were left idle, supplies were running low and electricity was not available.

Urgent pleas for a cease-fire have been rejected by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unless they also involve the return of all of the almost 240 captives that Hamas took during the October 7 attack that started the conflict.

GOP hopeful Chris Christie visits Israel, says the US must show solidarity in war against Hamas

While in Israel on Sunday, Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie stated that the United States and Israel must fight the terrorist organisation Hamas "shoulder to shoulder."

Christie spent his one-day visit visiting with Israeli leaders, injured troops, and families of Israeli prisoners while touring a kibbutz that had been devastated by Hamas militants during their October 7 rampage, which started the war. The first Republican contender for the 2024 nomination to visit Israel is the former governor of New Jersey.

Israel, Hamas spar over fuel shortage at Gaza's largest hospital

Three premature newborns and four other patients lost their lives when the sole generator in Gaza's largest hospital ran out of fuel on Saturday, the Health Ministry said. It said that 36 more babies could not survive.

The Israeli military said that it arranged for hospital personnel to oversee the transfer of 300 litres of fuel, which it left overnight close to Shifa for an emergency generator that powers preterm infants' incubators. However, the military claimed that Hamas stopped the fuel from getting to the hospital.

A Health Ministry spokesperson, Ashraf al-Qidra, disputed the account and also told Al Jazeera the fuel would not be enough to operate the generator an hour. “This is a mockery towards the patients and children,” Al-Qidra said.

Largest Gaza hospital 'not functioning' amid Israeli assault

The president of the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared on Sunday that while the fierce Israeli assault on the Hamas-controlled strip continues, the major hospital in Gaza has shut down and patient deaths are on the rise.

Medical personnel report that three newborns have died at Shifa and that others are at risk of dying from power shortages due to the intensive fighting nearby. Hospitals in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave, such as the al-Shifa complex, are besieged by Israeli forces and are hardly able to provide for the needs of those inside.

Targeting Palestinian Hamas militants who carried out lethal strikes in southern Israel on October 7, Israel claims the organisation has command centres beneath and close to the hospitals.

Netanyahu says Hamas refused Israeli fuel offer for Gaza's Shifa hospital

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that although Israel had supplied fuel to the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza, which had to halt operations due to fuel shortage, the terrorists had declined to accept it.

When NBC News questioned Netanyahu, they wanted to know if the claims made by Israel that Hamas maintained a command centre beneath Gaza's major hospital warranted endangering the lives of infants and sick patients.

"On the contrary, we offered actually, last night, to give them enough fuel to operate the hospital, operate the incubators and so on, because we (have) no battle with patients or civilians at all," Netanyahu stated.

IDF says it has delivered 300 litres of fuel to Al-Shifa Hospital for medical purposes

Early on November 13, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that their soldiers had successfully transported 300 litres of fuel to Al-Shifa Hospital in order to meet immediate medical needs. They further mentioned that the hospital was allegedly not allowed to accept the fuel by Hamas.

"Our troops risked their lives to hand-deliver 300 liters of fuel to the Shifa hospital for urgent medical purposes. Hamas forbade the hospital from taking it. Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry has been warning for weeks that its hospitals are running out of fuel. If so, why would they prevent the hospital from receiving it?" said the IDF in a post on X.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, 7 others block proposal to snap all ties with Israel at Islamic nations' summit: Reports

According to sources, a proposal to cut all ties with Israel at the Islamic-Arab summit was thwarted by Saudi Arabia, which is seen as the de facto leader of the Muslim world, and its neighbour, the United Arab Emirates.

The proposal was to sever all diplomatic and economic relations with Tel Aviv, deny Arab airspace to Israeli flights and that the oil-producing Muslim countries should “threaten to use oil as a means of leverage" to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, The Times of Israel reported Ehud Ya’ari, the Arab affairs analyst of Israeli news platform Channel 12, as saying.

Hamas' real plan for 7 October was to go deep into Israel's territory, says report

The Washington Post, citing intelligence officials, said that new data indicated Hamas terrorists were ready to infiltrate far into Israeli territory, potentially reaching the border in the far east and the West Bank.

A few days after abstaining from a separate resolution that demanded an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict in order to allow aid to enter the besieged Gaza Strip without restriction, India made a significant move by voting in favour of a resolution in the UN General Assembly denouncing Israel’s settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Fourteen countries voted against the resolution, including the US. This comes after top diplomat Antony Blinken acknowledged that “far too many Palestinians have been killed” and that “more needs to be done to protect civilians and provide them with humanitarian aid” in one of the strongest US condemnations of the death toll resulting from Israel’s shelling of Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu earlier hit back at the global criticism over reports of civilian death in Gaza and reiterated his vow to defeat Hamas and pledged to ‘stand firm against the world if necessary’.

The Israeli military said it offered 300 litres of fuel to the al-Shifa, the largest hospital in Gaza, amid reports of the deaths of three premature babies due after the hospital’s last generator that powered the incubators ran out of fuel. But Hamas prevented the hospital from receiving the fuel, the Israel Defence Force said.
