Kabir Khan Shares Big Update on ‘Babbar Sher’: ‘Will Hire Katrina Kaif But Only on One Condition’

Kabir Khan is currently soaking up all the praise for his recent release, Chandu Champion, featuring Kartik Aaryan. However, earlier this year, Kabir was in the news for speculation about joining hands with Salman Khan for the fourth time. Reports claim that the duo will collaborate for the upcoming film Babbar Sher and had early discussions on the matter towards the end of 2023. However, it now seems there is little possibility that viewers will see Salman Khan in Babbar Sher.

In an interview with News18, Kabir Khan addressed the rumors circulating on the internet. He said, “These are all conjectures in the market (laughs). There’s no Babbar Sher right now.” Meanwhile, when the news of Salman working in Kabir Khan’s film broke, excited fans once again demanded that Salman should share screen space with Katrina Kaif. However, it seems that the makers are in no rush.

Talking more about the matter, Kabir said he would approach Katrina Kaif only if he finds that the script is ‘good enough’ for her. He says, “Katrina is somebody I’ve collaborated with on many films. I would love to work with her again. But it’s all about the script and creating material that’s good enough for me to take to her. Only if I’m excited about it will she be excited about it. Whenever that happens, I would love to reunite with her. There’s absolutely no doubt that if there’s suitable material, we’ll surely work again,” the director said.

At present, Kabir Khan’s recent release Chandu Champion is doing well at the box office. The film is based on the life of Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar. Kartik Aaryan, who is the lead in the film, essays the role of Murlikant. Released on June 14, 2024, the film has minted Rs 78.6 crore worldwide.

Talking about the film and praising Kartik Aaryan’s acting, Kabir said, “The hard work an actor puts into a film is very apparent; you can’t fake that. As a director, I speak to so many of my fellow directors, and they all reacted to the hard work that Kartik has put in. He went into it with so much conviction and cut himself off from everything except for the world of Chandu Champion.
