Bhaiyya Ji Actor Zoya Hussain Recalls Being Groped and Eve-Teased in Delhi Metro: ‘There’s Always Fear’

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Zoya Hussain, popularly known for her performance in the film Bhaiyya Ji with co-actor Manoj Bajpayee, recently opened up about the disturbing experiences she had with harassment and molestation during her commute in Delhi’s metro. ‘I’ve Been Groped and Eve-Teased In Delhi Metro’ Says Zoya

During her recent interaction with Nav Bharat Times, the Bhaiyya Ji actress recalled her nightmare while travelling in the Delhi metro. Zoya disclosed the sad truth about of women’s mistreatment and harassment in the national capital. She shared a glimpse of her personal encounter as an illustration. Zoya said, “I have been through all this several times in Delhi. I have been groped and eve-teased in Delhi metro. Whenever you step out of the house, especially in the evening, there’s always fear and restlessness. If such things happen in Mumbai, people come and take a stand for you, but in Delhi, these things are very normal (sic).”

Zoya recollected a nerve-wracking experience where several men followed her during a late-night travelling back to her home in Gurugram. Explaining her nightmare Zoya said, “I was returning home after watching a film and I noticed that two to three men were following me. I got scared and started running and somehow managed to reach home. So we are actually not allowed to go out in the evening in Delhi. I really believe that Mumbai is the safest city in India. Now, I stay in Mumbai with my sister and my parents do not worry about us because they know that we are safe in Mumbai (sic).”

Recently, a lot of buzz has been going around about Zoya’s relationship with the well-known actor Jim Sarbh. Amidst the growing chatter, she tactfully labelled the matter as a ‘private’ affair during a chat, commenting that she was somewhat clueless about all the noise being made around it. Zoya also painted a warm picture of her friendship with Jim, describing him as a ‘dear companion’, and highlighting the depth of their mutual understanding.
