Krishnakumar Balasubramanian is an actor, director, producer, lighting designer, and action choreographer, according to his Instagram bio. Following his 2010 feature debut in Kadhalagi, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian took a hiatus from the film industry. Before returning to the big screen in 2020 with the Amazon Prime anthology film Putham Pudhu Kaalai, he served as the artistic director of The Little Theatre Group. He became well-known later that year when he portrayed Suriya’s companion Chaitanya, also known as Chay, in Soorarai Pottru. He also appeared in Dhanush’s Maaran in 2022.

On the personal front, Krishnakumar is married to motivational speaker, world athlete, and physician Rohini Rau. The couple has a daughter, named Atiya.
