It was clearly a family day for Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut as she took part in the ‘Gantrala’ ceremony of her newborn nephew, Ashwatthama on Wednesday, 1 November. The actress took to her social media handle and shared adorable family pictures from the ceremony. Dressed in traditional attire, Kangana was seen holding the baby in her lap while kissing one of his hands adorably. She also shared pictures from the ceremony with her brother Aksht Ranaut, sister-in-law Ritu Ranaut, and her parents taking part in the pooja. Earlier, she had also shared the news of the baby’s arrival on social media.
Kangana Ranaut takes part in nephew’s ceremony
Explaining the meaning of the ‘Gantrala’ ceremony, the actress wrote that it is a pooja that is hosted by the family on the 13th day of the child’s birth in Himachal Pradesh. Considering her nephew is now 13-day-old, it was his ‘Gantrala’ pooja on Wednesday, following which the baby is now “free to go out of the house and meet the world.”
“In Himachal we have a tradition of Gantrala, a small Pooja hosted by the family on the thirteenth day of the child’s birth. It is Ashwatthama’s Gantrala today now he is free to go out of his house and meet the world,” she wrote.
Speaking about the post, the actress shared a series of pictures. While the first picture shows Kangana Ranaut’s brother putting a tilak on his son’s forehand, the following two picture shows the actress holding on to the baby as he remains asleep in her lap.
Along with them, she also shared a picture of her sister-in-law and she also took part in the puja while holding the baby in her lap.
In the meantime, Kangana Ranaut shared another post from the pooja showing her parents as they looked quite happy with their grandson.
Earlier on 20 October, the Tejas actress had shared a couple of photos from the hospital as the family welcomed the newborn. Sharing a few pictures with her family members, she had written, “Today on this blessed day our family is blessed with a child, my brother Aksht Ranaut and his wife Ritu Ranaut are blessed with a son. We have named Akshwathama (Ashwatthama Ranaut) this stunning and attractive boy. May you all bless our new family member, we share our infinite happiness with you all.
