Kerala: Man arrested for 'sexually assaulting' 80-year-old woman with disability in her sleep
A 33-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an octogenarian differently-abled woman in Kollam district of Kerala.
Police said the accused, identified as Rashid, was arrested on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting the 80-year-old woman while she was sleeping in her shop at Kottiyam.
The incident took place on October 20. The victim was found injured in an isolated area in Kottiyam, police said.
“Locals saw her in the morning, informed her family, and took her to the hospital. The family filed a complaint with the police as well,” police said.
Rashid, a resident of Velinellur, was caught on late on Sunday evening after verifying CCTV footage in the vicinity, the cops added.
