Lebanon: 3 Hezbollah members dead, over 1,000 injured as pagers explode in group’s ‘biggest security breach’

As per a Reuters report, citing security sources, the pagers which exploded, were the latest model brought in by Hezbollah in recent months. Many of the injured suffered critical wounds to their face, eyes, and limbs and have been hospitalised.

Lebanon: At least three member of Lebanese militia group Hezbollah were killed, and over 1,000 people, including Hezbollah fighters and medics, injured, when the pagers they use to communicate exploded across Lebanon on Tuesday. A Reuters report, quoting a Hezbollah official said detonation of the pagers was once the “biggest security breach” the group had been subjected to in nearly a year of war with Israel.

In a statement issued later within the day, Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of at least three people, including two of its fighters. The 1/3 person killed was once a lady, it said, adding that an investigation was once being conducted into the causes of the blasts.

Among the fighters killed was once the son of a Hezbollah member of the Lebanese parliament, Reuters reported.

In step with a report by Iran’s Mehr news agency, Mojtaba Amani, the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, is many of the injured, on the opposite hand, these reports may no longer be independently verified.

In other footage, an explosion seemed to knock out someone standing at a fruit stand at a market area.
