Tensions escalated as the group attempted to breach barricades at the Dhalli tunnel, prompting law enforcement to resort to mild lathi-charges and water cannons to disperse them.
Subsequently, the protesters resorted to a take a seat-in protest, obstructing the road to Sanjauli before at last dispersing. The confrontation resulted in injuries to around 5 to six police officers and an identical selection of protesters.
