Meg Lanning retires: Longest winning streak ever, fastest ton and other records held by Australia skipper
Meg Lanning, who led the Australian women’s cricket team to five World Cup triumphs, shocked the cricketing community by bidding adieu to international game on Thursday, 9 November.
Apart from being Australia’s most successful captain, Lanning is regarded as one of the finest batters that the country has ever produced. The 31-year-old represented Australia in 241 matches — 103 one-day internationals, 132 Twenty20 internationals and 6 Tests. After announcing her retirement, Lanning revealed that she would continue to feature in domestic cricket in her home country and possibly in India.
