MS Dhoni sets his own pace, he wants to stay ahead of the narrative and hence, amidst all the speculations around his future with the Chennai Super Kings, the former India captain was seen enjoying a game of tennis.
In a viral video doing the rounds, Dhoni’s skills on the tennis court has got quite the traction. Despite having retired from international cricket, Dhoni remains one of the most admired cricketers today. In the trending video clips, Dhoni was positioned near the baseline, skillfully returning balls.
On the final retention day ahead of IPL auctions, Chennai Super Kings officially announced that MS Dhoni will continue to lead the side for the upcoming season as the defending champions look to maintain their title. There was initial uncertainty about his participation in the league, especially after undergoing significant knee surgery earlier this year, but the former India captain looks to be ready to take up the mantle of the side once again.
Having secured five IPL titles for the Chennai Super Kings in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023, Dhoni has become synonymous with the CSK and he is certainly their biggest brand. Concerns arose about the future of his IPL career due to the surgery, but CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan was optimistic about his future. He said that that Dhoni is committed to his fans and emphasizes that if Dhoni has given his word, he will undoubtedly fulfill it.
In a recent promotional event, MS Dhoni himself spoke about his recovery following knee surgery and said that he wanted to make a comeback and play for his fans.
“No problem in day-to-day routine. A lot depends on the body, I have 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side, it’s not easy for me but that’s a gift. The way they’ve shown their love and affection, I think that’s something I need to do for them,” Dhoni said.
