Namita Thapar Gives ‘Unapologetic Reply’ To Trolls Who Asked Her Not To Share Her Cannes 2024 Photo: ‘I Will Go All Out..’

Shark Tank India’s judge Namita Thapar turned heads with her look at Cannes 2024. The Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals made her debut at the 77th International Film Festival, and her photos took the internet by storm. However, despite the appreciation, some people trolled her for her looks. In a recent post, Namita cleverly criticized stereotypes by using humour to address online negativity.

In her caption, Namita addressed the trolls who told her to ‘dress her age’ and labelled her as ‘just a nepo kid.’ She highlighted comments such as ‘You don’t deserve a seat on the shark tank’ and ‘Please don’t post your Cannes pictures,’ and responded to these remarks.

Namita said, “Who defines who we are & how we need to behave? The biggest gift in life is when …with age, with some white hair & guidance from precious mentors, you discover your true authentic self & celebrate self-love. Yes, I will go all out in Cannes…yes, I will put up my pics on social media & oh yes, I will not be apologetic & defensive about who I am. Here’s to taking every stereotype ever created & squashing it with my 6-inch killer heels !!!”

Namita opted for an off-shoulder purple dress designed by Lebanese fashion designer Elio Abou Fayssal as her Cannes 2024 look. Thapar looked extremely gorgeous in her flowing gown. To add to the charm, she paired the right set of accessories with a messy bun to amp up her game.

According to media reports, the Shark Tank judge received an invitation on day 2 of the festival. Thapar was invited to attend the premiere of Chris Hemsworth’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Expressing her excitement about wearing the elaborate gown during an interview with Brut, Namita said, “I love the colour because it is so different. It is a colour that I have never worn before. I just hope that I can manage this long train, but I am having fun… I pray I don’t trip over it (her gown) on the red carpet.”
