Actor-singer-sensation Jennifer Lopez and actor-director Ben Affleck‘s marriage is reportedly facing turmoil. According to various US media reports, the couple has been grappling with marital issues for some time now. Despite the challenges, it is said that they have not given up on their relationship and are seeking solutions to resolve their differences.

A source told Us Weekly, “Jen and Ben are having issues in their marriage,” noting that these problems intensified when Jennifer began taking on more work commitments and preparing for her tour. “They started having issues a few months ago as Jen had started ramping up work commitments and prepping for her tour.”

In Touch Weekly also reported that Ben Affleck has reached a breaking point and moved out of their shared home. The insider stated, “The writing is on the wall — it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!”

Selling the dream house?

Additionally, it has been suggested that Ben and Jennifer might sell their dream home soon. Although the exact reason for their potential split remains unclear, it is rumoured that their differences stem from control issues. “He’s focusing on his work and his kids now. Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted,” the source claimed, adding that they are “on two completely different pages most of the time.”

Separated already?

Another report indicated that Jennifer and Ben are living separately, with Jennifer reportedly looking for new property. However, Page Six clarified that Jennifer’s property search was for investment reasons. The couple hasn’t been seen together in public since March 30, 2024, when they were spotted house hunting in Manhattan. Affleck was notably absent from the Met Gala, where Lopez was a co-chair. A week later, on May 14, Lopez and her producing partner were seen shopping for real estate in Beverly Hills without Affleck.

Therapy as a solution:

Regarding therapy, the source mentioned, “Ben believes in therapy to a point and is willing to participate with an open mind, even though he finds the process humiliating. He’s never going to gauge the success of this marriage by what happens in the therapist’s office. He also has a higher tolerance for conflict and having to fight to get his way than the average guy.”

Interestingly, this was noticed just a couple of days after Jennifer Lopez ‘liked’ an Instagram post that read, “You cannot build a healthy relationship with someone who lacks integrity and emotional safety.”
