Nana Patekar didn't slap a fan taking selfie, reveals Anil Sharma, says, 'I was watching the same video just now...'

A few days back, Nana Patekar received flak on social media for slapping a boy on the set of his film Journey, who came to take a selfie with him. The actor later released a video on social media and clarified about the shocking incident. “A video is going viral in which I have hit a boy. Though this sequence is a part of our film, we had one rehearsal… We were scheduled to have a second rehearsal. The director told me to begin. We were about to begin when the boy in the video came in. I didn’t know who he was, I thought he was one of our crew so I slapped him as per the scene and I told him to leave,” said Patekar.

Now, filmmaker Anil Sharma cleared the air regarding the incident and told Aaj Tak, “I have just come to know about this news. I was watching the same video just now. Nana has not hit anyone, rather that is a shot from my film. We were filming it on the road in the middle of Banaras, where a boy who comes near Nana has to be hit on the head. Shooting was going on and Nana also hit him.”

He added, “But the crowd gathered there recorded it on their mobile cameras and then leaked the shot of the film. Now, Nana is being projected as a negative and rude actor on social media, which is completely wrong. I would request that the fans understand the truth of this video. This is a shot from the film. Nana has not hit anyone.”

Talking about the film, Sharma recently said in a press statement, “As a filmmaker, my ‘Journey’ is all about crafting stories that touch the soul, and this film is no exception. It’s a tribute to the timeless appeal of a true family bond, and I’m thrilled to have the legendary actor, Nana Patekar on board with us, and with all the love that Utkarsh has received after the success of ‘Gadar 2’, to see this combined energy and artistry, I believe ‘Journey’ will be an unforgettable experience for our audience, filled with love and emotion.”
