New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) may have been spending heavily to market the game of cricket in the United States with the ongoing T20 World Cup, but the Americans need more time to understand the sport. The remark comes after The New York Times – one of the oldest and most renowned publications globally – committed a blunder while reporting the score of the India vs Pakistan clash in the T20 World Cup 2024 that happened at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

In their report titled ‘India-Pakistan Cricket World Cup Match Brings 34,000 Fans to Long Island’, the publication put an excerpt/strap which read ‘Security was tight, but the mood was jubilant in the temporary stadium in Nassau County, where India won 119-113 in a highly anticipated nail-biter’.
