Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday jumped two places to sixth place after they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 14 runs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Hyderabad.

MI had posted 192/5 after 20 overs courtesy a fine unbeaten 64 from Cameron Green, and their bowlers, led by Riley Meredith and Jason Behrendorff helped them restrict SRH for 178. Arjun Tendulkar, too, collected his first-ever IPL wicket, removing Bhuvneshwar Kumar to see off the Hyderabad innings.

As many as five teams, including CSK, are currently tied on six points from five games, with the second-placed Lucknow Super Giants having the best Net Run Rate (0.761) of the lot.

The table is currently led by last-year’s runners-up Rajasthan Royals, who have won four out of five matches so far this season. Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, find themselves at the bottom with five defeats in as many games, and are on the verge of bowing out of the playoffs race.

List of Orange Cap and Purple Cap holders

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis became the new holder of the Orange Cap after his 33-ball 62 against Chennai Super Kings, taking his tally to 259 runs in the season at an average of 64.75 and a strike rate of 172.66. Kolkata Knight Riders’ Venkatesh Iyer (234) and Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan (233) occupy the second and third spots respectively on the batting chart.

Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, meanwhile, regained the Purple Cap after it went into Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mark Wood’s possession for some time. Both Chahal and Wood have collected 11 wickets each though the spinner has the better economy (7.85) of the two. Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan is third on the list with 11 wickets as well.
