Love and War Update: Sanjay Leela Bhansali Says He Created A Song For His Mega Project; Calls Decision ‘Spontaneous’

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently enjoying the success of his much-talked-about show Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The series, released on Netflix, is getting immense love from the audience. Now, SLB is all set to move to his next mega project, which is going to be Love and War featuring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal. In January, the director officially announced the movie, and now he has a massive update to share with his fans.

SLB recently appeared for an interview with Galatta Plus, where he discussed creating a song for his highly anticipated Love and War. He mentioned that he wasn’t sure where the song would fit in the film, but he knew the movie wouldn’t be complete without it.

He stated, “I have created a song for Love and War and I don’t know where I’ll fit it in, but I have created it. And now I’ll find a way, and I know that song has to be in the film; without that song, the film would be incomplete.” He called the decision an extremely “spontaneous,” “erratic,” and “chaotic” method of music creation.

Earlier this year, the cast of the upcoming SLB film Love and War took to their official Instagram handles and shared the news of the film’s release. The post read, “We bring you Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic saga ‘Love & War.’ See you at the movies! Christmas 2025.” The poster also featured the signatures of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.

In a report by Pinkvilla, a source close to the portal claimed, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been fascinated by making a pure love story that stands the test of time, and this one falls right in the zone. It’s a timeless love story with three principal characters played by Ranbir, Alia, and Vicky.”

The source added, “It is an original love story set against the backdrop of war. It’s an homage by SLB to the 1964 classic, Sangam, directed by Raj Kapoor.”
