Esha Deol has caught everyone’s attention with her recent announcement of separation from her husband Bharat Takhtani. While the actress’s divorce shocked her fans as she was married for 11 years, reports suggest that her father Dharmendra is ‘sad’ about her decision. He even wants Esha to rethink about her decision to part ways from Bharat.
A recent report by entertainment portal Bollywood Life quoted a source as saying, “No parents can be happy seeing their children’s family being broken. Even Dharmendra ji is a father and one can understand his pain. It’s not that he is against his daughter’s decision to get separated but what’s her to rethink over it.”
The source even argued that the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor is not against her daughter’s decision. However, he believes that their separation could affect children. The source further noted, “He is indeed sad, and that’s the reason he wants them to reconsider getting separated. Esha and Bharat have two daughters Radhya and Miraya. They are very close to their grandparents paternal and maternal. Separation affects the kids badly and hence Dharamji feels if the marriage can be saved they should.”
Meanwhile, other reports claim that Esha’s separation from her husband was brewing for a while and the couple was waiting for the right time to announce the same. It has also been reported that Hema Malini, the mother of Esha, has been supportive of her daughter’s decision and does not want to meddle in her decision.
Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani started dating each other in their 20s and went on to get married in 2012. Earlier this month, the couple issued a joint announcement announcing their separation after 11 years of being together. Their statement read, “We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected.”
Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani are parents to their daughters Radhya and Miraya, six and four years old respectively.
