Hundreds of passengers went through a harrowing experience on September 10 at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after the Kenya Aviation Authority (KAA) team of workers began its strike. The passengers were left stranded.

The KAA employees were demanding the federal government and JKIA to make the deal public with Adani Group Holdings in managing the international airports. The employees had given an ultimatum too in this regard.

Clueless passengers were seen in long queues as they were witnessing a chaotic situation on the airport.

The passengers confirmed as soon as the strike kicked off, no aircraft had taken off from the airport.

The employees of KAA were no longer seen at entry points of airports. Later, a couple of flights were reportedly cancelled that ended in the site in pandemonium.

In step with reports, a series of meetings had taken place between the federal government and Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) but they failed to achieve any consensus.

The employees were worried that a mass layoff would take place if the federal government signs the cope with Adani Group.
