This year’s biggest science fiction film Kalki 2898 AD may take time to telecast on television. The film which made an improbable box place of business collection is struggling to finalise TV rights yet. After releasing in theatres, films appear on OTT and TV channels. But, resulting from streaming platforms, the choice of individuals having a look at films on TV has reduced drastically. Earlier, films used to take a month to come on TV, but now the streaming platforms are buying films in lower than a month. This has increased more audience viewership on OTTs.

Satellite rights are a necessary contributor to the films revenue. Many films normally lock in a partner before the discharge but it no doubt looks as if that the pan-India film is struggling to sell its TV rights. In keeping with reports, Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone has did not sell a deal for TV premiere to this point. Why This Pan-India Film is Struggling to Finalise its TV Deal?
In keeping with reports, producers of Kalki 2898 AD first tried to convince Famous person Maa Group, then again the channel didn’t show a lot interest in the deal as the exorbitant fee became extremely high. Zee Group has reportedly agreed to purchase the satellite tights, but hasn’t signed the agreement yet.
It looks as if channels are now now not showing interest in buying India’s most costly film. They're now now not ready to generate revenue from this content, as audience are consuming it on OTT platforms way before it became released on TV.
When became Kalki 2898 AD released on OTT?
Kalki became released on two different OTT platforms. Netflix bought the Hindi version rights, while Amazon purchased it in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. The film has been streaming on both platforms since August. The web collection of this science-fiction thriller in Hindi is 291.5 crores, while the worldwide earnings have been around 1200 crores. The budget of the film is reported to be Rs 600-Rs seven-hundred crores, which is definitely the right any Indian film has taken to be made to this point.
