Salman Khan Firing Incident: ‘Do Not Underestimate the Threat,’ Actor Recounts Being Awoken by Gunfire

Actor Salman Khan has expressed serious concern about the shooting incident at his Bandra residence on April 14. The shooting, allegedly carried out by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, poses a significant threat to him and his family. Salman emphasised to the Mumbai crime branch that this incident should not be underestimated. The police have also taken a statement from Salman’s younger brother, Arbaaz Khan, regarding the incident.

A senior officer stated that the shooting occurred while Salman and his family were at their Galaxy Apartment home in Bandra West. Salman was awakened by the sound of gunfire and went to the gallery but saw no one outside. Shortly after, the security guards informed him about the shooting. Salman expressed that the Bishnoi gang had unfairly targeted him.

Arbaaz Khan highlighted that this was not the first threat they received. Earlier, a threatening note was found outside their house, and Bishnoi gang members had conducted reconnaissance at their Panvel farmhouse. He urged the police to take the firing incident seriously.

On April 14, two attackers on motorcycles fired 5-6 rounds at Salman’s house and fled. The police have since arrested six people involved in the case. The latest arrest was of Harpal Singh, also known as Harry, aged 25, from Haryana, who helped finance the shooters. The other arrested individuals include Mohammed Rafiq Sardar Choudhari, two shooters Vicky Kumar Gupta, aged 25, and Sagar Kumar Pal, aged 24, as well as Anuj Thapan and Sonu Subhashchandra Bishnoi. Anuj Thapan, who was in police custody, died by suicide on May 1.

Police reports reveal that on March 15, Thapan and Sonu Bishnoi provided Gupta and Pal with two pistols and 38 live rounds in Panvel, which were used in the shooting. Choudhari had recorded a video of Salman’s house on April 12 and was in contact with Rohit Godara, a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi. Choudhari admitted to receiving ₹3 lakh from the Bishnoi gang, of which he gave Rs 2 lakh to the shooters.

The Mumbai crime branch continues to investigate the case, recovering deleted videos and photos from Choudhari’s mobile phone to gather more evidence.
