Despite significant investment, the film became outright rejected by Salman’s own followers upon its release, leaving the makers with a costly setback.

Unquestionably one of Bhaijaan Salman Khan’s most disappointing ventures is the 2008 film Yuvraj. With its big name-studded cast, including Anil Kapoor, Zayed Khan, Boman Irani, and Katrina Kaif, and directed by the renowned Subhash Ghai, expectations were high. The buzz around Salman’s look promised a blockbuster, but the film failed to deliver. Interestingly, Aamir Khan became initially considered for Salman’s role, while Shah Rukh Khan became slated for Anil Kapoor’s part, and Salman became to play Zayed Khan’s role. Alternatively, Aamir Khan’s refusal left the film to underperform.  Made with a hefty budget of Rs forty eight crore, the film only managed to earn Rs 31 crore on the box administrative center, resulting in a giant financial loss for the producers.

It’s rumoured that Subhash Ghai approached Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan for Yuvraj, but both declined the role. The director also tried to enlist Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, and Abhishek Bachchan, yet none agreed to big name within the film. In total, nearly eight major stars turned down Yuvraj before Salman Khan took on the role.
