Sanya Malhotra on similarities between Dr Kafeel Khan and her character in 'Jawan': 'Not that I know of'

The track of Sanya Malhotra in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan where she’s revealed to be a doctor has reminded netizens of a similar case that happened in real. For all those who have seen the film, Malhotra’s character is arrested when the hospital runs out of liquid oxygen, resulting in multiple deaths. The same thing happened with Dr Kafeel Khan.

Dr Kafeel Khan was arrested back in 2017 in the Gorakhpur case when 63 children and 18 adults lost their lives due to BRD Medical College and Hospital running out of liquid oxygen. Talking about the similarities, Sanya Malhotra told Indian Express, “Not that I know of. I used to completely surrender on set, to Atlee sir’s vision. But I got to know that he tweeted about it. All I can say is I feel very fortunate to have played a character like Eeram. It is a very important message that we are trying to give out.”

Malhotra is currently enjoying the blockbuster success of Jawan, also starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sunil Grover, and Priyamani. In a chat session with fans on Instagram recently, a user asked the actress to choose between Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan‘ and Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal‘, and she had a rather amusing response. She shook her index finger and said she couldn’t opt for one name.

Malhotra, who has shared screen space in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan, revealed in a filmy style with her latest video on ‘manifesting’ working with King Khan, and how that has finally come true. The Dangal actress posted a video on her Instagram feed with a background score featuring Mitwa song from SRK’s 2006 film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna in the superstar’s signature style adding a twist of Shah Rukh’s dialogue from Om Shanti Om to it.
