Several Museums In Delhi Receive Bomb Threats; Case Registered, Probe Underway

New Delhi: Several museums, including the Railway Museum in Delhi, received bomb threats on Tuesday. After receiving information about threats, Delhi Police registered a case and a probe is underway. Earlier in the day, the National Railway Museum also received a bomb threat e-mail, officials aware of the matter said. A senior police officer stated that the National Railway Museum in Chanakyapuri received an email containing a bomb threat.

Soon after the information was received, Delhi Police and bomb disposal squad visited the museum premises and searched the area before calling it a hoax.

However, these bomb threats were later turned out to be a hoax. The development comes days after several schools and hospitals in Delhi received bomb threat emails, which later turned out to be hoaxes.

It should be noted that the Delhi Police on Tuesday apprehended a 13-year-old boy for allegedly sending an email to the Delhi airport, falsely claiming that a bomb had been planted on a Toronto-bound Air Canada flight.

The bomb threat was received at 11.25 PM on June 4, stating a bomb was planted on flight number AC043 scheduled from Delhi to Toronto. However, the authorities stated that the boy had sent the email “just for fun” to check whether it could be traced back to him or not.
