Chandrababu Naidu Takes Oath: 17 Fresh Faces Among 24 Ministers In New Cabinet; Check Full List Here

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday took oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh along with 24 ministers. The grand event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Nitin Gadkari, among other top BJP leaders, at the IT Park in Vijayawada. Notably, this is the fourth time that Chandrababu Naidu has assumed the Chief Ministerial post and the second time after the bi-furcation in 2014.

Notably, the Jana Sena Party has got three berths in Naidu’s cabinet including the Deputy Chief Minister’s post to its chief Pawan Kalyan. The BJP has got one ministerial berth.

Apart from Kalyan, the cabinet leaders included two JSP leaders namely Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh. Satya Kumar Yadav is the lone saffron party’s minister in Naidu’s cabinet.

Out of 24 cabinet ministers, 17 are fresh faces. the Naidu cabinet includes three female ministers, eight Backward Class leaders, two SCs, one ST and one Muslim.

Naidu stepped up as the chief minister for the first time back in 1995, before Andhra Pradesh was separated, maintaining his position for an unbroken nine years, till 2004. He reprised his role as the chief minister post the split in 2014 and carried on till 2019. Under Naidu’s competent leadership, the coalition of TDP-BJP-Janasena aptly named the National Democratic Alliance, made a considerable triumph in Assembly as well as parliamentary elections.

In the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the TDP, triumphed by clinching 164 out of the 175 seats. The TDP, contesting in 144 seats, seized 135 of their bids while the other alliance partner, the Jana Sena Party (JSP), swept all the 21 seats it fought for. The BJP, although a minor player in the state, managed to bag eight out of their 10 contested constituencies. However, the news was a blow for the reigning YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), which could only secure 11 seats in a disappointing election.

The TDP MLAs who took oaths include – Nara Lokesh, Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, Nimmala Ramanaidu, NMD Farooq, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Payyavula Kesav, Kollu Ravindra, Ponguru Narayana, Vangalapudi Anita, Anagani Satya Prasad, Kolusu Parthasaradhi, Kola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, Gottipati Ravi, Gummadi Sandhyarani, BC Janardhan Reddy, TG Bharath, S Savitha, Vasamsetty Subhash, Kondapalli Srinivas and Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy.
