Shah Rukh Khan has always been the ‘king of romance’ in Bollywood. And it was no different even in his latest blockbuster, Jawan. Despite the Atlee directorial being a high-octane action thriller, the film has its share of romance and needless to say, the superstar aced it. ‘Baadshah’s’ romance with Nayanthara was well received by the audience who, like always, loved their chemistry. As Jawan has double roles played by SRK, the King Khan is also seen romancing Deepika Padukone.
During the flick’s recent success meet in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan was asked to reveal the secret behind being able to do such great romance on screen. Time and again, we have witnessed SRK speaking highly of women and his latest answer, in similar lines, once again won hearts of millions.
Shah Rukh Khan on romancing Nayanthara
Speaking on being audience’s favourite romantic hero, Shah Rukh Khan said he does very little to make the romance work. It is more on the writer and director who create such powerful female characters owing to their love and respect for women. Elaborating further, the actor said Nayanthara’s strong character in Jawan screams of women empowerment and hence, any man would easily fall for her. For the unversed, Nayanthara plays the role of Narmada, an independent single mother of a 9-year-old daughter. No wonder Shah Rukh’s reply called for cheers and whistles from the audience.
Apart from SRK, Jawan’s press conference saw Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupath, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and other female stars alongside director Atlee. Nayanthara, who although missed the event due to personal reasons, made sure to send a message for her fans in a pre-recorded video.
Jawan has smashed several records at the box office even since it released on 7 September. The film, which entered the Rs 800-crore club, is close to cross a whooping Rs 850 crore worldwide. Jawan has been released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming projects
Following Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan will be featured next in Dunki. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film will also star Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani among others. Dunki is slated to be out around Christmas and New Year this year.
