T20 World Cup 2024: India Train In New York For First Time, Ravindra Jadeja Says, ‘Gonna Be Super Fun’

New York: The Indian team had their first ground session in New York ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Wednesday. Hardik Pandya who was vacationing in London also joined the squad and participated in the ground session where all the players focused on strength and conditioning training. It was Pandya’s first stint with the Men in Blue after the ODI World Cup 2023 where he had to leave midway due to an injury.

In a video posted by BCCI, India’s strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai spoke about the purpose the ground session. “Today we are having our first ground session, all the players have been away from us for two and a half months from us, just getting them together to know where they stand, what needs to be done before the World Cup, was the goal,” he said.

“As a sports science and medical team, we want to see them move, we want to see them run, so that we can put enough plans in place for each guy to be ready for the first game,” he added. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also expressed his excitement to play cricket in New York for the first time.
