'Thank you India': Israel thanks Indians for massive support on social media amid Hamas attack

Israel has thanked the people India for their support as the hashtag “India is with Israel” trended on social media platform ‘X’ throughout Saturday following large attacks by Hamas.

“Thank you India,” Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Digital Diplomacy team said in a message on its official account on X

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also posted a picture which showed the hashtag “India is with Israel” trending on X.

Earlier on Saturday morning, after Hamas launched an unexpected strike, a volley of missiles pounded southern and central Israel.

The innocent victims and their families are in India’s thoughts and prayers, the country’s prime minister stated earlier in the day on Saturday.

Taking to X, PM Modi stated, “Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour.”

In response to PM Modi’s statement on X, Israel’s Ambassador to India Naor Gilon stated, “Thank you @PMOIndia. India’s moral support is much appreciated. Israel will prevail.”

In another post shared on X, Gilon stated, “Israel is under a combined attack from Gaza during the Jewish holiday. Both by rockets and ground infiltration of Hamas terrorists. The situation is not simple but Israel will prevail.”

According to the most recent developments, medical authorities estimate that at over 100 people have died in the Hamas “terror attack” on Israel, The Times of Israel reported citing Hebrew-language media.

In the ongoing terror attack by Hamas on Israel’s southern and central region, 908 injured individuals have been transported to hospitals for treatment, according to the Health Ministry, The Times of Israel reported. 800 people have been hurt as a result of the attacks, which saw scores of Hamas militants sneak into Israel and kill soldiers and civilians. Rocket attacks also injured others.

In a statement posted on X, Israel’s Foreign Ministry stated, “At least 100 Israelis murdered and more than 900 wounded in terror attacks by Hamas terrorists.”

While sharing the post on X, Israel’s Foreign Ministry stated, “The fighting in southern Israel is still ongoing. Our security forces are securing areas which are under attack by Hamas terrorists who infiltrated Israeli communities and who have taken civilians captive.”,

According to Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the chief spokesperson for the Israel Defence Forces, Israelis have been taken captive in the Gaza Strip by Hamas, according to The Times of Israel.

Hagari claimed in a press conference that Israeli soldiers had also died in the fighting. The number of hostages or soldiers slain was kept a secret by him. According to Hagari, there are still 22 active battle zones in southern Israel, including Be’eri and Ofakim, where hostages are being held.

According to a story in The Times of Israel, he claimed that Israeli troops had arrived in every village along the Gaza border and added that they were working to scan everyone. Hagari claims that four divisions are being sent to the border with Gaza to join the 31 battalions currently stationed there.
