The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri reacts to Hanu Man box office success: 'A moment of glory for...'

Writer-director Prashanth Varma’s latest outing Hanu Man featuring Teja Sajja, Amrita Iyer, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty and Vinay Rai in lead roles, has turned out to be an instant hit at the box office. The Hindi dubbed version of the Telugu superhero film has also done tremendous in the northern part of the country.

Now filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, who is known for helming The Kashmir Files, The Vaccine War, The Tashkent Files and other has the makers and director of Hanu Man for film’s success at the box office. Taking to X, he wrote, “Thrilled with the success of #HanuMAN! Kudos @PrasanthVarma, @tejasajja123, the stellar crew & VFX team. Also, big thanks for your valuable contribution to Indic Cinema. A moment of glory for the Indic Renaissance, a movement we initiated in 2010 with #BuddhaInATrafficJam, which was stuck for 6 yrs and finally released free on YouTube by Rajshree. What a delight to see that’s it’s now flourishing with blockbusters like #TheTashkentFiles, #TheKashmirFiles, #TheKeralaStory, #Kantara, #Kartikeya2, and many more surprises in the pipeline. Keep blessings Indic filmmakers.”

On the professional front, Agnihotri is busy with Parva. The filmmaker tweeted the announcement and wrote- “Grateful to the almighty to be presenting Padma Bhushan Dr. SL Bhyrappa’s ‘modern classic’: PARVA – AN EPIC TALE OF DHARMA. There is a reason why PARVA is called ‘Masterpiece of masterpieces.’

In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, the filmmaker revealed, “I’ve always wanted to go into new worlds, new characters, and I don’t repeat myself. My first film Chocolate was a suspense thriller, which was immediately followed by a film on football. Which director moves from a thriller to a film on sports? I then made Hate Story that was a woman oriented subject but told in an erotic style. Buddha in a Traffic Jam was about campus politics. The Tashkent Files was about the controversial death of the Prime Minister of India, so I don’t repeat myself. I don’t have any particular genre.”
