This is how Parineeti Chopra paid tribute to her grandmother on her wedding

Bollywood diva Parineeti Chopra and politician Raghav Chadha exchanged vows in Udaipur, Rajasthan over the weekend. The dreamy pictures from the occasion have been the talk of the town since then. Now, the Mission Raniganj actress re-shared a post mentioning special connection with her wedding outfit. The attire, which included an exquisite ivory lehenga with sequin work, was designed by her official wedding couturier Manish Malhotra.

As posted by the designer on his Instagram account, Parineeti’s grandmother’s traditional keychain was a key part of the ensemble on the actress’ D-day. Manish Malhotra captioned the post, “Some details make all the difference. I remember discussing the lehenga design with Parineeti Chopra, who mentioned adding her Nani’s challa (traditional keychain) to it! She wanted to pay a heartfelt tribute to her nani, who used to wear the same challa in her saree with the keys, a symbol of being the lady of the house.”

Parineeti Chopra’s brother, Shivang Chopra also showered love in the comment section.

Re-sharing the post on Instagram Stories, Parineeti wrote, “I missed my naani on my special day but had a piece of her on me. Thank you M.”

The designer further added that the sound of the challa or keychain stood as ‘a melody of strength and grace’ for the actress. On making it a key part of the wedding outfit, he stated, “That’s when we knew we had to add that piece of legacy to her lehenga.”

Other elements significant to both Raghav and Parineeti included London, music, Khanda Sahib and more. On the keychain part, he added, “It was not just an accessory… but a piece of her that Parineeti would have on her special day.”

The geometric patterned lehenga, which enlisted personalised detailing to unconventional jewellery choices was hand-crafted with intricate nakshi embroidery. The lehenga took 2500 hours to be created and had a matching mesh blouse. On top of it, the customised veil had her husband Raghav’s name embedded in Devanagiri.
