Tom Brady Denies He’ll Burn a $375 Million Deal

When you’ve won seven Super Bowls, you get to call the shots in your post-football career.

For Tom Brady, widely regarded as the greatest quarterback in National Football League history, that could mean walking away from a 10-year, $375 deal to call NFL games on Fox.

That’s the call from Andrew Marchand, a sportswriter with The New York Post, in a recent appearance on the Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast. On the show, Marchand opined that Brady may not be all-in on a broadcasting career.

"I've talked to a couple of people recently close to Brady and I kind of feel like I'm going more 49 percent chance he does it, 51 percent chance he doesn't. I don't think he wants to travel that much. ... I think Brady's a guy who if he's in, he's all in. So he's not going to be showing up the day of games like Joe Buck and [Troy] Aikman do sometimes. He's going to be there early if he's going to do it, so it's a four-day event. ... He shares his kids with Gisele [Bundchen]. I think that's very important to him, and he can make money elsewhere."

Brady is having none of it, heading onto Instagram to deny the report.

“Fake news”, he said on his Instagram account on May 5.

Brady also made it clear on Feb. 1 he wouldn’t be returning to the football field.

“Good morning, guys. I’ll get to the point right away: I’m retiring - for good,” he declared on a social media post. “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press ‘record’ and let you guys know first. So, I won’t be long-winded. You only get one super-emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year.”

"So, I really thank you guys so much — every single one of you — for supporting me. My family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors… I could go on forever. There are too many. Thank you for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing.

“I love you all,” he added.

Brady has won seven Super Bowls, included six with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That’s the most Super Bowl trophies by any player in NFL history.
