UN blames Russia for deadly Hroza strike

On Tuesday, the UN human rights office stated that it had “reasonable grounds” to suspect that the missile strike that killed 59 people in a cafe in the Ukrainian village of Hroza was carried out by the Russian military.

Reporters in Geneva were informed by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights spokesperson Liz Throssell, “Today, we are publishing a report into the events of October 5 that concludes there are reasonable grounds to believe that the missile was launched by Russian armed forces.”

She continued by stating that “there was no indication of military personnel or any other legitimate military targets at or adjacent to the cafe at the time of the attack.”

A cafe in a village in the Kharkiv region was allegedly hit by a Russian missile this month, according to Ukraine, as mourners gathered to pay their respects to a fallen Ukrainian soldier. Moscow has restated its denial that it attacked Hroza with the intention of targeting civilians during its invasion.
