Paris: Hijab clad woman shot by police after 'threatening to blow herself up' at metro station

After “threatening to blow herself up while screaming Allahu Akbar” and donning an Islamic veil in Paris, a lady was shot by police.

At least one bullet struck the victim during rush hour at the Paris Metro station Bibliothèque François-Miterrand.
After police were able to “isolate” the woman at the station, there was a standoff.

Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne placed the nation on its highest counterterrorism alert earlier this month after an attacker fatally killed a teacher and gravely injured two others.

Just after 8.30 a.m. this morning, armed police arrived at the station in response to complaints of a woman “threatened to blow herself up,” according to an investigating police source.

The woman was wearing an Islamic veil.

It is stated that the anonymous lady was shot half an hour after the police showed up.

Her condition remained critical.

A source told the Daily Mail, “She made threats and advocated for terrorism according to police.”

“At roughly 9.20 am, the cops opened fire out of fear for their protection. She was then struck in the stomach and sent to the hospital right away.

Soldiers are around the station, which is still closed, and residents have been evacuated.

The Paris prosecutor’s office stated through a spokeswoman that “two investigations have been opened, following the shooting and arrest of a woman on the RER C train line.”

He stated that she was ‘reported for having uttered death threats after getting on a train in the Val-de-Marne’ suburbs.

The woman was the subject of one investigation because of her “apology for acts of intimidation, death threats, and terrorism.”

In addition, “intentional violence with a weapon by a person holding public authority” (a police officer, in this case) was the subject of the second investigation.

According to French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, tensions in the Middle East are still present because of the Hamas-Israel War.

Regarding the war, President Emmanuel Macron has urged cooperation.
