Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest Netflix show Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar released on May 1, has been receiving mixed reviews from both critics and viewers. However, the film’s grand sets, stunning visuals, and mesmerising music have left audiences in awe. Actor Sheezan Khan, known for his role as Alibaba in Daastan-e-Kabul, took to social media to express his disappointment with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s show.
In a post on Instagram, Sheezan Khan shared his thoughts on Heeramandi, stating that while Farida Jalal delivered Urdu lines correctly, other actors fell short in pronunciation. He wrote, “Apart from Farida Jalal ji! Nobody could speak ‘urdu’ in SLB’s Heeramandi! Kisi Ka Nuqta, kha, qaf apni jagah pe nahi hai!! Kyu bhai kyu?? Urdu ke saath itni naainsaafi. Disappointed. (None of the actors pronounced the words properly apart from Farida Jalal Ji. Why bro? Why such injustice with the Urdu language.)”
