US Sanctions Chinese Entities For Supplying Ballistic Missile Technology, Materials To Pakistan

US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said the United States has imposed sanctions four Chinese entities, one Pakistani company, and one Chinese individual for their supply to Pakistan's ballistic missile programme.

The Unites States has imposed sanctions on four Chinese firms, and a Chinese national for supplying materials to Pakistan for the us’s ballistic missile programme. A US State Department official said a Pakistani company has also been sanctioned lower than the missile sanctions laws.

In an announcement issued Thursday, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said the U. S. has imposed sanctions on the Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machine Building Industry (RIAMB), which has worked with Pakistan’s National Development Complex (NDC), lower than the missile sanctions laws (i.e. the Arms Export Keep watch over Act [AECA] and the Export Keep watch over Reform Act [ECRA]).

As per the statement, the Beijing Research Institute had worked with NDC in the advance and production of Pakistan’s long-range ballistic missiles to procure equipment for trying out of enormous-diameter rocket motors, including the Shaheen-Three and Ababeel.

“The U. S. is [also] imposing sanctions on three PRC-based entities, one PRC individual, and a Pakistani entity for ballistic missile proliferation activities: PRC-based firms Hubei Huachangda Intelligent Equipment Company, Universal Enterprise Limited, and Xi’an Longde Technology Development Company Limited (aka Lontek); and PRC individual Luo Dongmei (aka Steed Luo) for knowingly transferring equipment and technology controlled lower than the Missile Technology Keep watch over Regime (MTCR) Annex, in enhance of MTCR Category I missile programmes, to a non-MTCR usa,” the statement said.

It said that sanctions have also been imposed on a Innovative Equipment, a Pakistan-based entity, adding that the “United States will continue to act against proliferation and associated procurement activities of concern, wherever they occur”.

Earlier, in October last year, the U. S. had targeted three Chinese companies for supplying missile-applicable items to Pakistan.

At the time, the U. S.  sanctioned General Technology Limited, Beijing Luo Luo Technology Development Co Ltd, and Changzhou Utek Composite Company Ltd. for supplying brazing materials used to sign on for components in ballistic missile rocket engines, in the production of combustion chambers, and supplying mandrels and other machinery used in the production of solid-propellant rocket motors.
