White House will ‘smell like curry’ if…: Trump ally mocks Kamala Harris’ Indian heritage in racist post, triggers outrage

US Elections 2024: An in depth ally of Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump drew condemnation and outrage both ends of the political spectrum over her racist remarks against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. In a social media post, Laura Loomer, an ally of former President Trump mocked Harris’ Indian heritage, saying the White House would “smell like curry” if the she became elected President of the United States.

Reacting to the “repugnant” and racist comments, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday slammed Trump’s association with Loomer, a former congressional candidate, who had made the remarks on X on Sunday, days beforehand of the presidential debate in which Harris is widely believed to have “outperformed” her Republican rival.

“No leader should ever associate with someone who spreads the type of ugliness. This type of racist poison, that’s what it is,” Jean-Pierre said when asked about Loomer’s remarks at some point soon of the every day press briefing,

“Precisely the sort of hateful, decisive rhetoric that we must always denounce. And may no longer be portion of the fabric of this u . s . a .. It doesn’t matter your political opinions, you deserve to stand and condemn … these different types of just repugnant, repugnant words,” she added.

Laura Loomer, 31, often seen with none consideration-wing conspiracy theorist, made the remark while commenting on a photo posted by Kamala Harris on National Grandparents Day in which the vp talked about her grandparents from India.

Kamala Harris’ mother Shyamala Gopalan migrated to the US on the age of 19 to pursue higher studies. Her father Donald J Harris is from Jamaica.

“The White House will smell like curry & White House speeches shall be facilitated via a call centre and the American people will simplest have the choice to convey their feedback through a customer satisfaction survey on the tip of the call that nobody will keep in mind,” Loomer had said in her post on X.

During the past, Loomer has which is is called the 9-eleven attacks an “within job,” which Jean-Pierre brought up Thursday in her rebuke of the former president Trump’s ally.

“No leader ought to be connected to that or spreading that,” the White House Press Secretary said.

Notably, Loomer’s remarks also didn’t go well with some Trump supporters. “This does no longer represent President Trump. This type of behaviour should no longer be tolerated ever,” said Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
