WATCH: 'Will keep repeating October 7-style attacks on Israel': Hamas official

Ghazi Hamad, a representative of Hamas, was heard in a video interview made public on Wednesday defending the organisation’s hideous gorilla attacks that claimed over 1400 Israeli lives on October 7 and which prompted the start of a full-scale invasion of the Gaza Strip.

Speaking to Memri, a research organization with headquarters in Washington, DC, Ghazi declared, “Israel is a country that has no place on our (Palestine’s) land.”

“That nation must go because it poses a military and political threat to the security of the Arab and Islamic countries and must be destroyed.”

“We don’t feel embarrassed to state this emphatically. We have to make Israel pay for its actions, and we will do so repeatedly, Ghazi declared.

“There will be a second, third, and fourth because we have the will, the resolve, and the capabilities to fight,” he continued. “The Al-Aqsa flood is just the first time.”

“Will there be a cost involved?”
“Indeed, and we’re prepared to pay for it.”
“We are proud to sacrifice martyrs because we are known as a nation of martyrs, he remarked.”

“We did not want to harm civilians, but there were complications on the ground, and there was a party in the area with (civilian) population,” he said in response to the Hamas strike on October 7. He added that it was a huge area, spanning 40 kilometers.

“The occupation must come to an end,” Ghazi said. The interviewer responds, “Where is your occupation? In the Strip of Gaza?

“No, I am talking about all the Palestinian land,” Ghazi responds, alluding to Israel’s destruction.

“The existence of Israel is illogical,” he clarified. The source of all the suffering, bloodshed, and tears is Israel’s existence. It’s not us; it’s Israel. The victims of this occupation are us. Forever.”

Consequently, no one should hold us accountable for our actions. “Everything we do on October 7, October 10, and October 1,000,000 is justified,” Ghazi declared.

On Wednesday, the Yemen army launched missile and drones at Israel, right after Houthi rebels did. With its attack, Houthi rebels have drawn its main sponsor Iran closer into the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has said that Hamas is sacrificing the people of Gaza as “human shields” adding that the country “won’t be deterred and will continue dismantling Hamas.”

In an interview with CNN, IDF spokesperson Jonathan Conricus said, “The population in Gaza continues to pay the price for the atrocities of Hamas. This is a war that we didn’t want and we didn’t start. We are now responding to Hamas regression.”

An Israeli strike in a densely populated Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza has left several dead and has caused catastrophic damage according to eyewitnesses in the region.

The death toll in Gaza stands at 8,796 till Wednesday afternoon (IST).
